I have just installed Workstation 9 on Win 7 Pro SP1. NAT is not working for the first Linux guest (Ubuntu 12.04). From a quick search, it seems there is an issue with vmnat and the Windows firewall.
I have found discussion on the problem, but nothing along the lines of a how-to. Most of the discussion seems to be about adding rules to the windows firewall, where the posters seem to already have some experience. I am not a Windows firewall expert, and really do not want to become one.
So my question: is there a how-to or similarly straight-forward documentation on what needs to be done to allow NAT to work?
I have disabled the firewall on the vmnet side, but the public-facing network connection needs to keep the firewall. I haven't tried another guest OS, yet.
Thanks!
