Having a very frustrating issue where I can't set the resolution on my new Thunderbolt Display (and it's obviously not auto detecting properly either). I've tried all sorts of tricks highlighted in posts about setting registry keys (they don't exist) and updating the guest OS .vmx file (which only causes more problems). Mac OS detects the resolution properly.
Mac: Late 2012 15" MBP Retina
Host: Mac OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.3
Guest: Windows 7
VMWare Fusion 5.0.3
The issue occurs in Full Screen using both displays. When I use Unity view resolution on the second monitor works OK however the location and size of the Task Bar etc is unreliable. When using a single window the resolution adjusts as expected.
The other annoying issue is that my primary monitor and resolution settings is not sticking... every time I plug in the TB Display or switch from Windowed to Full Screen on the VM the settings go back to a default setting, not what I'd previously configured for that particular hardware configuration. I've had this working properly before on the same VM using a Cinema Display.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve the issue?
