I have been running esx since 3.02 and have recently upgraded from 4.1 to 5.1. When I went to upgrade the vmware tools some vm's, 2003 and maybe a few 2008 windows servers seem to really drag and take forever to do the tools install. The processor on the vm seems to be getting hammered as well. I have never run into this before and just wondered if anyone else has seen this and if they may have a solution. I have been upgrading a 2003 DB server now for over a hour and the machine is really slugish.
Any thoughts?
