vcops 5 - re registering vCenter

Hi all,

I currently have a ticket open with VMware, but thought I would ask here to see if anyone has seen it before.

During the upgrade to vCenter 5.1 it failed and "rolled back" ie uninstalled vcenter completely, after recovering from that, I unregistered the vCenter from vcops admin view and then tried to re register but i get the following error:

"Exception occurred during vCenter Server registration. UUID is not available for the currently registered vCenter <vcenter name> (https://<vcenter FQDN>/sdk). This can happen if you added the vCenter from custom UI instead of the admin UI. Please contact support to fix the problem and then attempt to register a new vCenter."

Now I tried to use the force register from the command line on the UI machine using the vcops-admin register command. with the force switch

Same error on the command line.

went to unregister it and says its not registered.

Sucks I dont mind starting again data wise, would be good to obviously keep all the previous data but just want to get it monitored again.
