After virtualizing the vCenter server of a vSphere 5.0 infrastructure (using VMware Converter) I see the error "This object has already been deleted or has not been completely created" while attempting to revert VMs to snapshots.
If I remove the VM fronm the inventory and re-add them (as suggested in the KB article on page http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1039326 ) the problem looks solved and I can revert the VM to the requested snapshot.
I suspect that that the problem can be the symptom of some serious problem caused by vCenter virtualization:
- How can I check the overall integrity of the vCenter database?
- Is it advisable to power off the virtualized vCenter and restart the old phisical vCenter (after keeping it powered of for several days) to prevent further problems?
If the problem is limited to snapshots and the solution is removing and readding the affected VMs, as the number of affected VM is elevated, is there any way to perform the action on all the affected VMs with a single operation instead of on each single VM?
Is there any further check we can do to ensure the (virtualized) vCenter health?
