Hi, when I try to Enable Sharing in Workstation 8 RTM | Edit | Preferences | Shared VMs, I get an error Failed to configure Workstation Server. Checking the Event log, I have found they try to start the VMware Workstation Server service which fails to start (even when trying to start it manually) and the following error is logged "The VMware Workstation Server service terminated with service-specific error %%-1." by the Service Control Manager. I have found no additional related event.
Running on Windows 7 SP1 x64. The port is set to 7443.
I have also tried to find an applicable vmware log, but neither found anything related; however I might have missed something.
Thanks for any ideas what might be wrong and/or how to fix it.
