I just failed back from a recovery we were running on some test systems. I noticed that the original failover to our DR site unmounted all LUNs from our hosts and removed the LUNs from the storage pools. Also on the recovery side I see the newly mounted LUNs with the prefix snap_xxxx_volume name.
So we did the failback and I see SRM mounted the volumes back to the hosts on the SAN side and the newly re-mounted volumes say snap_xxx volume name as well. I also see snapshots still on my LUNs. I would think SRM would clean that all up?
Can I rename my volumes in vCenter so they don't say snap.....?
Is it safe to remove these leftover snapshot?
