Fusion with Macbook air - Problems

Hi,

Setup

Macbook Air running 10.8.4

VMware Fusion 5.03

Issue

When launching VMware Fusion and selecting Virtual Machine Settings -> USB and Bluetooth I was expecting to "automatically" see the inbuilt iSight Camera as an option for passing thru to my VM (Windows 7) however the only 2 items listed were

  • Apple Bluetooth USB Host Controller
  • Apple internal Memory Card Reader

From checking on Google people see the "Apple iSight Camera" as an option in Fusion however it doesn't appear as an option for me.

Research

I have searched Google gih and low for an answer and cannot seem to track this down

I have downloaded and installed the Windows drivers ready for when I can get the camera seen by fusion - http://www.techrockdo.com/technology/isight-camera-in-windows-on-vmware-fusion

I have checked for Root permissions - http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&docTypeID=DT_KB_1_1&externalId=2004687

Checked VMware KB's - http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1027964

I have also plugged in a USB headset and that then appears within the available options under USB and Bluetooth and is seen by the VM and works well from the small amount of testing I have undertaken.

I have checked that the camera works OK in the native OS and did does in a mulitude of applications

I'm not one to give up easily but seem to be running out of ideas now, oh and hair...

Thanx

Tony
