HP DL380p G8 - dropped packets on management port but not VM's.

I have searched through the discussions but not found a query that has matched my issue.

We've added two new VM hosts to a customer's data center. They currently had 2 x DL380 G7's which have been running perfectly for past 2 years. We added two new DL380p G8's and have been having some weird dropouts on the management ports. Currently using SAS data-store (no iSCSI or SAN)

I pre-configured these servers (single guest of 2008 R2 on each) before moving them into the data center using the ESXi 5.0.2 HP installation from http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/software/vmware/esxi-image.html . Since we moved it to the data center though, the new servers experience about 10% packet loss/drop to the management port IP, but 0 packet loss to the Guest IP's. It doesn't seem to make a difference either if the management port and the vswitch are on separate NIC interfaces, same result when combined on the same NIC.

The Guest VM's seem to work fine, and are not affected by this, but any P2V's we try and do currently fail because of the packet loss to the management port.

The other host servers (DL380 G7's) are running the 5.0.0 HP distro of exsi and don't suffer any of these issues.

Any advise would be appreciated. I was holding off going to 5.1 because when I was configuring them originally I wasn't aware there was a VMware converter application for it - it seems there now is, so if you think 5.1 is the answer, then I'm happy to go ahead and do it.
