Hello all. We have had a situation where a virtual Windows domain controller started to produce a BSOD at boot time. We then wanted to go into safe mode at boot time to check files and do repairs.
BUT the boot is so quick that hitting F8 at precisely the right moment in the boot requires very lucky timing.
Given that the boot is totally controlled by the hypervisor, it should be possible to tell ESX to slow down when it next boots a VM.
I couldn't find a way to do that.
Does anyone know if there is indeed a way to slow down a boot ?
If not, does anyone know a way to reliably get the boot of a Windows VM to recognize the F8 key ?
Thanks guys.
