VMware vcloud director computer name 15 character max limit

Anyone know how to get around vmware vcloud director "Computer name" 15 character max limit? this is during VM deployment wizard.

VMware note:

"The computer name / host name set in the guest OS of this VM that identifies it on a network.

This field is restricted to 15 characters because of a Windows OS limitation on computer names."

For windows I understand the need, but for Linux machine more than 15 characters is often used.
