Does VMWare offer an alternative to terminal services in the following respect...

We have an accounts package called Sage 50 Accounts. It's a pretty horrible single or multi-user application for Windows.

Multi-User configuration has you nominate a Windows computer on the LAN, "the Sage Server", and install all files to this machine.

Client installation involves the same installation on the remaining PC's but modifying an ini file so that the client application connects to the central data on the server via a mapped network drive.

It's based on old outdated technology, such as the underlying FoxPro database and has some horrible incompatibilities eg. SMB2 locking on the Vista and Win7 Clients, client's antivirus products hanging their machines as it virus checks the program folder, hogging the network bandwidth, etc...

I'm told a stable solution it so do a single installation of the "Sage Server" on a Windows 2003 server and have the workstations connect via Terminal Services. That way it keeps it OS independant and doesn't hog the network bandwith sending tons of data to the client.

I was wondering if VMWare offer any products that achieve a similar facility ?
