So I was configuring a suspend and copy VM script today and came across the most irritating bug when using WS9 + vmrun suspend command running on Windows 2012.
I was using this "C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmrun" suspend "G:\Virtual Machines\Test 123\Test 123.vmx" in my script and it works flawlessly to suspend a running VM.
Converted the test VM to be "shared" and the very same command no longer works. In fact it mentions that there are no powered on VM's detected. Is this a bug? Honestly I just want a way to have my shared VM's auto suspend via a script so I can have them copied/robocopied for easy backups.
I tried to call support and gave up after waiting more than 30 minutes, and left a message. If anyone could help it would be most appreciated.
