The MSI 'c:\users\administrator\AppData\Local\Temp\vmware_1350244385\vmwareworkstation_x64.msi' failed.

Service 'VMware Workstation Server' (VMwareHostd) could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services.

System:

OS: Win 7 Ult 64bit

CPU: Core I7-3630QM

RAM: 16GB

HDD: 256GB esata SSD (170GB free space)

I replaced the HDD with an SSD and reinstalled everything on my system. I applied all MS updates prior to trying to install VMware-workstation-full-9.0.0-812388. I had VMWare 9 installed on this PC prior to the upgrade with no issues and had 8 VMs setup and running. No when I try just installing the client I get the above error. I did some digging and have done the following to try and resolve...

1. Turned off and disabled Win Firewall

2. Turned off and disabled Win Defender

3. Turned on and set to auto start Win Installer service.

4. Rebooted multiple times deleting all temp files prior to all install attempts.

5. Removed all VMWare reg entries after each failure.

6. I tried with  an account with admin rights and also with the main admin account.

7. I don't use Skype.

8. Verified that my AV (Avast) is not affecting the install.

Need this working asap! I need this for several projects I am working on in school!

Thanks in advance.
