I am using an i7 3770k and vmware workstation 9
I am trying to install arch linux on a new vm and am getting an issue where the vm locks up on boot after I partition the drives.
Here is my steps which lead to this issue:
1. Create new VM
2. Boot from xubuntu boot media and run GPARTED to partition the drive.
3. Add msdos partition table
4. parition and reboot.
(at this time I load the arch boot media, but have lso tried to boot from xubuntu media again)
on reboot the system hangs on a black line with one (non flashing) cursor, and stays that way for hours (forever?).
the thing is, if i use partition table GPT<< or any others, it will boot fine into the arch install dvd, only when i use msdos partition table does it hang.
Help!!
