7.1 virtual machine, using physical partitions, can't be started in WS9

Hello,

I have VMWare WS 7.1.3, and several VMs, which are 6.5-7.x compatible.

My main VM is using physical disk partitions.

I'm trying to update to WS 9, but then when I try to start my VM, it tells me "can not open snapshot file".

I also tried to run it as Admin, to be sure, but the problem remains the same.

I then tried to create another VM, in WS, to use the physical disk, but in the creation process, when I click on "physical partition", it tries to read the disk, and then displays a message telling "can't access \\PhysicalDisk0, internal error".

Again, I tried with both normal shortcut, and "execute as admin".

The only way I found to make it work is to switch back to WS 7.1.3!!!

Is there a solution to that problem? Can WS 9.0 correctly support physical partitions/disks?

I'm using Windows7 64bits as the host, and the guest is a Linux Fedora18 32bits.
