Problem with Fedora 18 and VMware WS 9.0.2 build 1031769 (Host: Win 7 - 64)

Hello all,

I've a problem when installing Fedora 18 (both 32 bit and 64 bit) into a VM (my host OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit sp1)

The complete install goes smoothly, but when I reboot at the end of this process, the VM restarts but stays locked on the wallpaper and the desktop never appears!

However, the VM isn't really frozen since the mouse pointer can move!

I've tried these 2 installs (32 and 64 bit) on 2 different machines (my Laptop Acer with an Intel Core 2 duo @ 2 Ghz, 4 Gb fo RAM, and my home made PC with an AMD FX 8 core and 32 Gb of RAM) and in these 4 attempts (Fedora 18 32 & 64 bit on the Acer and Fedora 18 32 & 64 bit on my home made PC), the results are unfortunately the same.

Please check the picture attached.

Where am I wrong?

Any idea to fix this problem would be trully appreciated.

Note: I don't have such a similar problem when installing Fedora 17 into a VM.

Thank you in advance for your time.

My home made development PC: MB: Asus Sabertooth 990FX, CPU: AMD FX 8-Core Black Edition @ 4.2 Ghz, RAM: Skill 32 Gb DDR3, HDD: 2 x SDD Crucial 240 Gb (1 for multiple Linux distros and 1 for Windows 7 Ultimate 64 sp1) and 1 x Western Digital 3 Tb (for data, including the VMware guest files), DVD: 2 x LG dual, Video card: Asus 210 Silent (Nvidia) 1 Gb DDR3, Screen: 2 x Futura HD17A 1280x1024.
