My host is Windows7 Professional X64, VMWare WorkStation is version 7.1.6.
Yesterday I created a new VM and installed Linux Mint 15 X64 on it.
Then I also tried installing the vmware tools in the usual way and it went OK until it suddenly stopped and asked for the location of some headers saying "The path "" is not a valid path".
On the next line is a question "Do you want to add a different path" with only a (yes) box visible.
Hitting Enter just makes a full circle since I have no clue as to what I should type in...
Typing no and Enter makes the installation go on to the end.
But when the VM starts it is always in full screen 1920x1200 and I cannot reduce it so I can see other windows on my Win7X64 host machine.
To me it looks like the vmware tools installation failed so there is no vmware display driver installed in the vm.
But I don't know for sure since I am no linux guru and only want to use the vm for software testing. I don't know where to look in mint15 if the display driver was installed...
If I go to the Linux Mint15 "Preferences/Display" it only causes a new process to be listed like a terminal process on the bottom task bar but no matter what I do it does not display a window to see anything inside...
I thought that I could change the resolution there but since it does not show anything that is impossible.
What am I missing?
I did buy a WS8 upgrade some time ago but then I found that it had so many issues from reading the posts here that I decided not to install it (and then make it impossible to go back to WS7)...
Any ideas?
