Can't Start VM's???

I installed VMware Server 2.0.2.   Created 2 VM's...Ubuntu DT and Win 7.

Then installed the console plugin.

Under "Virtual Machine",  the "Power",  "Snapshot" and "Console" options are all greyed out?

On the VM,  the console tab shows Powered Off  with a big right facing white triangle in the middle

and the VMware logo in the lower right. Clicking the triangle does nothing.   Help!!!
