Just started installing the first Workstation download 
on a 32 bits linux host.
I think that some parts of the installer are not completely newbie friendly, I am aware that it hasn't changed in that respect from previous versions.
If you don't know about the shared VM concept then the questions about what user to use for "shared virtual machines" are a bit unclear.
Especially the "if you don't set this correctly then ..." warning is a bit intimidating if not sure what it is all about.
A potential problem might also be that the installer did not detect the version 7 of workstation on that same host, at least it made no mention of an uninstall. Starting VMware Workstation now does show me the new Workstation so will see how it pans out.
