Moving guest level spanned volumes to a different VM

In order to work around the 2TB virtual disk limitation, we have a 4.37 TB RAID array that's divided into 3 virtual disks and connected to a VM. Then at the OS level, we created a spanned volume across these 3 virtual disks to present this as a single volume. What would be the best way to move this volume/disk to a new VM? If we "unspan" the volume, I am assuming all data will just be gone? This is on a Sever 2012 OS, running on ESX5.1.
