I added a 40GBE Mellanox connect-x3 Adapter to each of my esxi hosts (5.1 u1). The adapters were not immediately available. I searched vmware and mellanox's site and found driver 1.61. The driver installed fine and i can now use the cards but they are only listed as 10gbe and seem to only be linking up at 10gbe. The site specifically lists them as 10gbe so I am wondering is there a newer driver somewhere, and were they supposed to be supported by esxi 5.1u1 right out of the box and maybe adding them after the fact is my issue? Mellanox does not list a 40gbe vmware driver on their site, yet they seem to advertise 40gbe in vmware all over the place so I am confused.
