I need further explanation on what exactly vicfg-hostops --operation shutdown --force does. All I've been able to gather is what I've read in the documentation "if the host is not in maintenance mode, use --force to shut down the host and all running virtual machines".
I'm trying to put together a few commands that can be triggered by a UPS loss of power event to shutdown the host gracefully and when powered back up still have the normal automatic startup of my VMs. Assuming all my VMs have been gracefully shutdown, what are the negatives to running vicfg-hostops shutdown --force as far as the host itself goes?
