Windows Server 2012 won't boot on ESXi 5.0.0 build 821926

I am trying to create a VM of Windows Server 2012 Standard. I am running ESXi 5.0.0 build 821926 (vCenter 5.0.0 build 804277). I create a new VM, attach the ISO (I have tried both the Eval version, and the ISO we downloaded for our Volume License user, which is Server Standard and Datacenter) to the CD drive. Anyway, I increased the boot delay, hit ESCAPE and tell it to boot from CD. And ... nothing happens; it tries to do a PXE boot (which we support and use).

Now, why isn't this working? I am completely up to date on ESXi 5.0.0 patches; when I run a scan with Update Manager, it tells me I am compliant with all critical and non-critical patches. All the documentation I've seen says that my version of 5.0.0 will support Win 2012. The KB pages speak of this failing to boot, but for non-RTM versions of Win2012 (which doesn't apply to me), and they recommend installing ESXi Patch 02 and 04, which I have done, since I am fully up to date with patches.

I had a lot of problems trying to upgrade to vcenter 5.1, that's why I haven't done so yet. Eventually I will upgrade. But I would like to be able to test out Win2012 before I have to upgrade to 5.1.

Have I missed something? Some other advanced setting or something?
