Host only virtual network interface picks up wrong dhcp ip from server

I just setup Zentyal community server. I discovered after configuration that having a vm install of PClinuxOS it acquires the ip address as it should. After installation of Fedora 18 and Ubuntu 13.04 I discovered somehow it is thinking that the ip is a 192.168.X.X network, when the server has 10.10.10.X set as the dhcp pool. The server has two interfaces. One is the bridged interface outside to the world. The other is a virtual NIC set as host only. So I'm confused as to why a host only interface would be trying to set a 192 class range? Now the server does specify eth0 bridged as the gateway. I'm confused since one distribution of linux finds the dhcp server and the other two don't. And to make mention the 192.X.X.X that gets assigned is not routable, and I can't ping/traceroute to my virtual server. I have yet to setup rules on the server as I thought to keep it simple at first to have a known configuration that works with multiple operating systems. That way I can backup to that point in case I foobar the server setup I can return to a known state. Everything on the server is working. Services available are DNS Web DHCP Mail, etc. In terms of other configurations this is quite simple and straight forward. So the question is why a guest vm would be trying to get a 192 ip when the virtual interface is host only on a 10. ip class? Any and all suggestions are welcome...
