Hi,
I am trying to connect the heartbeat console on my Win7 PC to the heartbeat service on my 2 vcenter machines, but I am getting "Could not connect to host x.x.x.x: port 52267". On each of the vcenter machines, if I run the HB Console, I can connect to the local machine, but not the remote vcenter server (with the same error).
Reading the documentation, I have opened the inbound (tried the outbound as well) firewall for TCP port 52267. I have verified this port is open, as when I do not have the rule enabled, if I run 'telnet x.x.x.x 52267' I do not get any response. When I have the rule enabled (port is open) and I run the same telnet command, I get a response (it's garbage, but that doesn't matter, it tells me the port is talking). I have tried using the nfgui.exe in the firewall rules as well, but that doesn't do any better (Is this right? since the nfgui is the console itself, a connection from another machine wouldn't know this process name, right?).
When I turn the firewall off, everything works just fine, but as this is Windows, that is not an acceptable solution. Is there another port or range I should be opening?
Thanks,
Jason
