I'm experiencing below networking issue with vCloud director 5.1. Below is a scenario explaining the same.
I have created an external routed organization network for an organization. I have deployed 4 VMs in a single vApp from the same template and selected "Guest Customization" option at each VM. I have assigned below network configuration for each VM.
VMs are running Redhat Enterprise Linux 5.8 (x86_64)
VM1 > Static - Pool
VM2 > Static - Manual
VM3 > DHCP
VM4 > DHCP
Each VM is given a non-conflicting hostname. Once the vApp is powered on and the VMs are rebooted after the customization, i have the below results.
VM1 > IP is assigned and working.
VM2 > IP is assigned but no communication to the Edge device OR VM1
VM3 > IP is assigned via DHCP and working.
VM3 > IP is not assigned and when network is restarted, still doesn't get an IP from DHCP.
I have experienced the above explained issue in many vApps randomly and unable to figure out a reason. Appreciate your thoughts on finding a resolution.
