ARM builds in Win Xp VM bring machine to crawl

Greetings

I have the latest version of Fusion Professional.  Windows Xp VM utilizing 1GB of memory.

Macbook Pro Mountain Lion 8 GB of RAM.

I use the VM to develop embedded code.  My build tools are ARM ADS 1.2, RVDS 4.1

The main project I build is fairly large but builds just fine the firs time around.  My issue is after a couple builds my VM and my mac just come to a complete crawl.

All resources are eaten up.  Even after the builds complete and I close the command window.

Has anyone else experienced this?  Is this just an issue with the ARM tools?
