Added a linked vcenter but unsure on how to migrate my VM's to it...

Right, so I have a vcenter server already (windows based) and have just added another vcenter server and joined them in linked mode. However im confused on the best migration path to take to get some of the hosts and vm's to the new vcenter server.

One vcenter server is in the US, the new one is in the UK. I want to migrate all UK machines to the UK VC and leave all the US vm's on the US VC.

So i have put one host into maintenance mode, and disconnected and then reconnected to my new vcenter server. Then tried to drag drop/ migrate a VM to my new host on my new VC and niether work. No options for migration and a stop symbol on drag and drop.....

We do use shared storage, but I dont want to have to add/remove 500 vm's from inventory. Storage is shared on all VM's and attached to the new vcenter host.

Fully licensed +vmotion...

Any thoughts?

What is the way im supposed to move these VM's as it doesnt seem to be very obvious!

Thanks

Lee
