How SCSI ids are mapped for a VM?

In VMWare 6.0, if I add a hard disk by selecting the virtual device node "scsi (0:1)", I will see the scsi id value as '2:0:1:0' on the VM using the command 'lsblk -S'. But if I do the same in VMWare 6.5, the value is '32:0:1:0'.

Can someone explain how the scsi ids are mapped from the virtual device node values?

Thanks.
